Data Centre Engineer

A DC engineer is needed to work on-demand for one of our clients.
The following duties should be able to be carried out by the engineer:
Deployment / In-Scope Configuration Items oServers (Virtual & Physical) oStorage & Backup Devices oServer Appliances oHyper Converged Infrastructure (E.
g.
Nutanix, Cisco UCS)oTape Storage Units oPower Distribution Units rated 3KVA and below oSAN Fabric SwitchesoNetwork Switches oKVM Units oWAN Optimization Devices oFirewalls oAccess Points oRouters oPhysical Cabling oCable Management oCables which connect the device to itself, a peripheral, or a power/network port Break-fix / Technical Tasks ListoPower Cycling oRunning Diagnostics Commands oConducting whole unit replacement oInserting/Removing Media oReplacing Defective Components oAssist with fault diagnosis and investigation oConfiguring Remote Access oBasic Storage Array Configuration oReplacing faulty cables oTape Management and Maintenance oRebooting routers, servers, storage devices or other equipment oProviding loop-back cables in order to test circuits remotelyoRe-seating or replacing components or cables oCleaning fibers oIdentify/Analyze fiber issues by using OTDR/LSPM/VFLoInstalling loop backs oRacking, de-racking, and upgrade of any device installed Operations Tasks ListoUpdating and Recording of activities in relevant IT Ticket Management SystemoCoordinating and agreeing attendance time and date with key stakeholdersoProvide support either through phone, remote tools, or in person at onsite oPerform installation as needed either through physical or network medium oCoordinate the actual activity date and timing, including arrival and departure times.
oCarry all necessary tools, laptops etc.

Technical Skills oGood general understanding of IT principles such as Networks, Hardware and Domains oKnowledge of Infrastructure (Data Center and Network) hardware architecture as to understand the procedure shared by L3 teams during troubleshooting,H&E support oKnowledge of server/client operations in a domain environment including Active Directory oUnderstanding of current and legacy hardware Infrastructure platforms oHands-on experience in installation and troubleshooting Infrastructure (DC & Network) equipment's, Rack and Stack of the equipment/cable oGood Hands-on Experience in IMAC and Break-fix activities related to Infrastructure environment oAbility to identify Excellent the right defective spares and replace them with provided good spares as instructed and by physical observations oKnowledge of TCP/I P standards and networking oExperience with Tape Management activities oExcellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure oFamiliarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies Language skills neededoEnglish Soft Skills oExceptional customer facing skills oAble to communicate clearly and effectively both with Client and the Customer oLogical and analytical approach to work oAccurate record keeping oAble to work unsupervised oGood timekeeper oIntense focus on quality work oProductive and Efficient Academic Background oBachelor of Engineering / Technology / Science or Equivalent Work Experience Overall Experience (in yrs.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
