We''re expanding Business Banking! Now hiring 2 Business Banking Relationship Managers.
Grow, manage, and maintain new member business banking relationships to Virginia Credit Union. Responsible for growing and managing a portfolio of small to mid-sized companies. Provides financial guidance and delivers excellent personal service to business banking members in order to increase member satisfaction and portfolio growth. Has full knowledge of the Virginia Credit Union guidelines, procedures, and products. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. May be responsible for underwriting and servicing business loans within lending limits and guidelines. Proactively seeks new business loan and deposit opportunities. Performs other member service routines as required, and manages a portfolio of business loans and deposit relationships.
Develop new business for Virginia Credit Union by calling on prospective business members for loans and deposits.
Retain existing members through follow-up and by providing excellent member service.
Interview applicants to develop information concerning their business needs, repayment abilities, and earnings to determine whether a loan may be an acceptable risk.
Obtain and analyze financial data, and provide service on commercial mortgages, business loans, lines of credit, equipment loans, term loans, etc.
Draft necessary documents and agreements.
Conduct and analyze credit checks.
Make decisions on loans and terms within lending guidelines, and make recommendations to a senior lending officer and/or loan approval committee.
Perform loan portfolio management duties to ensure compliance with standards for watch list credits, charge offs, loan doc exceptions. Completes required compliance training and adheres to all compliance policies.
Maintain sufficient knowledge to recognize needs of ancillary financial services in order to make qualified referrals when a cross-sell opportunity is identified. These products may include investment services, insurance, residential mortgages, membership benefits to company employees.
Obeys and follows all applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations relating to anti-money laundering.
Represent Virginia Credit Union by participating in civic or non-profit organizations.
Comply with all published enterprise level policies and procedures including, but not limited to, Risk Management policies.
Complete all required, ongoing enterprise level training including, but not limited to BSA, OFAC, and Information Security.
Report all Risk Management Policy violations in accordance with policy.
Other duties may be required and assigned by the supervisor.
Knowledge:
Must have a thorough knowledge of financial products and services, preferably knowledge of business banking and commercial banking. Basic knowledge of needs-based sales and business development principles and techniques.
Skills:
Significant previous experience that demonstrates proficiency in managing a portfolio of small business or business banking relationships.
Previous experience that demonstrates proficiency in lending, relationship management and credit underwriting.
Prior responsibilities should include experience and accountability for loan growth, deposit growth, and/or revenue growth.
Prior experience that demonstrates knowledge of loan documentation and regulations.
Proven business development skills, and is self-motivated.
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally.
Community involvement.
Computer skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
Minimum Education and
Experience:
College degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting is preferred.
Prior experience working in a needs based sales environment for a financial institution.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for long periods of time. Infrequent lifting or carrying of objects up to 10 pounds. Ability to speak and hear clearly with reasonable accommodation.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
